
Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® operates under a food safety system that utilizes the internationally accepted Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards. The SQF standards are recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative.
Our manufacturing warehouses are certified to SQF 2000 Level 3 - Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management System. Our greenhouses are certified to SQF 1000 Level 2 - Accredited HACCP Based Food Safety Plan. Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® takes food safety and food quality very seriously. We feel that we have a moral and ethical obligation to do the right thing for our customers and always strive for the highest standards of food safety and food quality for our product consumers. Our goal is to be better than the competition and to continuously exceed government requirements.
The Department of Food Safety takes a proactive verses reactive approach to food safety and food quality. Traceability, microbiology, post harvest, and certifications are all segments of our continuously developing and improving food safety program at Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET®.
