Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® is committed to using sustainable packaging that is not only safe but effective for individuals and the environment. Preserving the environment and saving energy are important to all of us. By utilizing FDA compliant post-consumer recycled materials, we consume substantially less energy to produce and reduce wastewater significantly. Moreover, greenhouse gas and solid waste is also reduced considerably.
SUNSET® clamshells are made with post-consumer recycled bottles/post-industrial recycled plastics or with plastics that have been developed from renewable resources.
The PET products we use contain more than 70% post-consumer recycled material. PLA is used as an alternative to traditional plastics that produces crystal clear products with superb merchandizing capability and comes from a renewable resource.
